Rani Sita Devi from the royal house of Kapurthala, who was also known as the Pearl of India, was an acknowledged name in the elite social circles of Paris, New York, and London during the 20s and 30s. A diva who graced the cover of Vogue, she was an inspiration for an entire haute couture collection. An enigmatically charming beauty, she was also a popular muse for the famed photographer, Cecil Beaton.
An elegant couture ensemble, the swirl and the fall of the jacket are reminiscent of the era of Parisian Romance that was brought alive by the ethereal beauty of this iconic queen. A felicitous representation of the enigmatic confluence of the East and the West, this ensemble is apt assimilation of the spirit of the modern Indian woman. Also with just a hint of sheer, the outfit delightfully indulges in a fun and femininely flirty demeanour.
The jacket with its purple base is enhanced with self- textured golden Benares brocade weave- reflecting an ethereal shade of luxury- perfect for your life's golden hours. The intricate hand embroidery adorns the collar, placket, sleeve, jacket hems and along the waistline with resham and cut beads. When traditional textures meet a modern silhouette, it gives you a truly special gift, and that is what our Royal Jacket set is!
The jacket is with band collar, front opening and attached tulle waistband of 4.5 inches. The jacket has been paired with a glamorous tulle skirt and a raw silk blouse making it a perfect evening couture ensemble. The elegant pink circular flare skirt delivers a glamorous flare of above 20 meters. The blouse has a classic scoop neck with 8" long sleeves.
In standard specs the jacket is 60 inches long ( can be customised), sleeves are 23 inches long (can be customised). The blouse is a scoop neck with 8.5 inches front neck depth and 10.5 inches of back neck depth and concealed side zip closure for a fitted look. The skirt is 45 inches long (can be customised) with a concealed side zip closure and a fitted waist all around featuring a 1.5-inch wide belt. The Brocade Jacket and Raw Silk Blouse are underlined with cotton shantoon and the skirt is underlined with Tafetta.
